Wedge Wire ScreensSpecialised Engineering Services is the largest design and manufacturer of stainless steel Wedge Wire Screens for use in the gold mining industry in Australia. During the introduction of carbon in pulp processing in the early part of the 1980’s our CEO, John Doyle, worked tirelessly with major mining companies to develop the best aperture and profiles required to minimise the loss of carbon where woven wire and synthetic screens were being used. We found that, although the initial cost was higher than other screening materials, the use of wedge wire far outweighed the cost associated with the maintenance and damage caused to the carbon and carbon loss to tailings. Over the years we have expanded our business to export wedge wire screens to other countries including, Indonesia, Thailand, Africa, Ghana and New Guinea. Whilst we recommend the use of the 316L stainless steel materials for both wear and the elimination of pitting, we also supply both 304 and 316 stainless materials.
